Are You Looking UP or Looking DOWN as an Athlete?

What is YOUR perspective based on??

We’ve all been guilty of the “grass is always greener” scenario at some point in our life. “If I could only GET there. If I could only GET that.” – The list goes on and on.

The bigger thing to look at with a situation like that is what’s driving you to feel (and ultimately) think that way? Is it fear? Sadness? Envy? Pride? Determination?

Very often in life we go hard on ourselves because we compare ourselves to others. Whether it’s their looks, income, athletic ability, friends…anything. KNOCK. IT. OFF. !!!

The only person you should compare yourself to is you. Not your friend, your neighbor, your coworker, your boss and certainly not the person running alongside you at your next half marathon.

There is always a different point of view. A key question to always ask yourself is if that point of view will SERVE you. Bring attention to this during your training and racing. Remember to race for YOU.
