Today’s entry is about your past. Your history. Your mistakes. Your “blunders”. Races you’ve bombed. Races you’ve DNF’d. In general, races you might have felt like a total failure at.
We all fall down. It’s literally part of life. What WAY too many of us do is skip getting back up at our own pace OR skip forgiving ourselves for falling down. We almost immediately turn this into baggage or turmoil that we carry with us for a long time (if not forever). KNOCK THAT OFF!!
As athletes we’ll try and fail a lot. It’s the nature of learning what works for yourself as an individual and your athletic limits. You need to find space for allowing yourself to slow down, process what didn’t work and to absolutely forgive yourself for how a race day went.
