Today’s blog entry is a QUICK TIP — and it’s really simple!

CHECK YOUR GEAR!

All too often athletes have tough race days or tough training days because their gear just isn’t right. At risk of a flat tire? Would you even know? Inner tubes wear out, sometimes for no reason at all other than age or wear and tear. The bike is the most mechanical issue prone leg of any triathlon race. Check your chain, tires, tubes, gears, pedals, handlebars, brackets, rims – everything at least twice each year (once pre-season and once post-season) and of course as best you can before each race day.

Running shoes worn out? Start shopping for new ones. Swim goggles seem to be fogging up more than when you first got them? The seal could be going.

Take a little time now to go through your gear so you enjoy worry free training and racing πŸ™‚
