We all have stress in life. Anyone that doesn’t is likely living on the moon. Family, work, financial, food, friends, social – there are a TON of stresses we encounter all the time, sometimes without even realizing they are happening.

While reducing stress in your life is absolutely critical and ideal for optimal training, it’s not always a perfect science. Things happen and change can often be a slow process.

What should you do if you have a lot of life stress and want to achieve your training and racing goals? The answer? Take breaks and rest days! Your body and mind rebuild stronger and stronger during REST and RECOVERY phases vs just training constantly. Allow yourself some down time to balance, calm and rejuvenate. You might even find coming back to training after this allows for better sessions and harder workouts 🙂
