The “perfect” race day. Can it happen? Does it happen? Is it a myth?

Let’s take a quick look at what a “perfect” race day might look like.

The most important aspect is to remember that “perfect” is subjective. For you, it might be a new PR, quickest run split ever or simply just crossing the finish line. Always define your own version of perfect and don’t try to live up to anyone else’s ideals.

For us as the event creators a “perfect” race day is when all athletes leave upright or under their own power. Injuries (or worse) are something we never EVER want to happen. The majority (if not all) of everyone that shows up to race and spectate having a fun and exciting time is our second priority.

A few things to keep in mind that can help shape a “perfect” race day-

  • Athlete safety
  • Good weather
  • Fun race course
  • Positive energy
  • High fives
  • Feeling connected to other athletes
  • Enjoying your overall race experience
